Privacy notes

Last updated: October 29, 2026 (draft)

Jumplin is a movement board game for families and classrooms. We collect as little as we can. Playing on one device (pass-and-play) needs no account and sends nothing about you to us.

In short: no ads. We never sell, rent or share your information for advertising. We keep our own simple counts on our own server to help us run Jumplin — no outside analytics or tracking companies.

Who has an account

Only grown-ups (18+: parents, guardians, teachers) can make an account. Kids get a profile inside a grown-up’s account: a made-up nickname picked from a list (like “Bouncy Otter”), a cartoon buddy, and a secret 4-picture code. We never ask for a kid’s real name, email, birthday, photo, school or location.

What we store

WhatWhyHow long
Grown-up email addressOnly to confirm it’s yours and to send password-reset links. No newsletters, no marketing.Until you delete the account (if it isn’t confirmed within 2 days, another account may use that address)
Grown-up usernameTo log in. Other players see it in rooms you host or join.Until you delete the account
Password, recovery code, kid picture codes — stored only as scrambled one-way hashes (scrypt)To check them; we can’t read them backUntil changed or the account is deleted
Email links (confirm / reset) — stored only as one-way hashesSo each link works onceExpire after 1–48 hours
Kid nicknames + buddy, coins, outfits and power-upsSo the game remembers progressUntil the profile or account is deleted
Simple counts per account: when it was made, last log-in, rooms made, games finishedSupport, and to spot problemsUntil you delete the account
A log-in cookie (random number, HttpOnly)Keeps you logged in on that device30 days after last use, or until you log out
Online room state (names shown in the room, board, scores)To run the gameDeleted when the room closes (30 min idle in the lobby; at most 24 h)
A salted, one-way code made from your IP addressTo stop one network flooding the server with roomsDeleted with the room
Daily totals (e.g. sign-ups, rooms made, games finished, which board squares were played, failed log-ins) — numbers only, no names, emails or IP addressesTo see how Jumplin is doing and keep it safeUp to 400 days
“Active today” markers: a salted one-way code per account (not your username or email)To count daily / weekly active familiesUp to 40 days

We do not store chat text, video or audio, or anything kids type freely. Video chat (only in rooms hosted by a grown-up) goes directly between devices; the server only passes the set-up messages and keeps none of it.

Who can see it

Only the Jumplin team, through a protected admin page on our own server (two-step log-in). Email addresses are hidden there by default; showing one is recorded in an audit log. We use it only to help you (for example when you write to us) and to run Jumplin.

Services we use

Our web host (Hostinger) runs the server and stores the data above; our email provider, Titan Email (through Hostinger), delivers our emails (only confirm and reset messages). Sign-up, log-in and password-reset requests use Cloudflare Turnstile, an “I’m human” check, so robots can’t make accounts; Cloudflare processes technical signals (like your IP address and browser details) for that check under its own privacy policy. Like any website, our host keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and page) for security. We never sell or share your information with anyone for advertising.

Your choices

A grown-up can, at any time in Family settings: change the email (confirmed again at the new address), rename or remove a kid profile, reset a kid’s pictures, log out every device, or delete the whole account (deleted right away, with its email and kid profiles; daily totals stay as plain numbers that aren’t linked to you). Coins saved on a device before accounts stay on that device. You can also write to us to see, fix or delete your information.
